Apple has officially launched the MacBook Neo, its new entry-level model, available from 699 € in France. This model continues the MacBook lineup's renovations with competitive pricing and modern features.
The MacBook Neo is the first Mac to integrate an A18 Pro chip, derived from iPhone technology. It offers a base configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, ideal for demanding users.
Design and Screen: A Refined Look with White Keys
The MacBook Neo features a distinctive design with a 13-inch screen (2408 x 1506 pixels) without a notch, offering wide borders but maximum brightness of 500 nits. The keyboard keys are white, tinted with the same color as the Mac's body, without backlighting.
The model includes a Multi-Touch trackpad without Force Touch and integrated speakers in the chassis. It is available in silver, rose gold, citrus yellow, and indigo, with a weight of 1.23 kg.
Performance and Compatibility: A Balance Between Power and Limitations
The A18 Pro chip offers performance comparable to the M1, but remains below the M5 of the MacBook Air. However, the MacBook Neo supports Apple Intelligence's AI features, despite limited RAM to 8 GB, which may pose issues for intensive multitasking.
The model features two USB-C ports (USB 3 and USB 2) as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack. It is compatible with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6, with no included charger.
Price and Availability: An Affordable Model for Students
The MacBook Neo is available starting at 699 € for individuals, and at 599 € for students and educators via the Apple Education Store. Two versions are available: 256 GB and 512 GB with Touch ID.
The product is available for pre-order starting at 3:15 PM on March 4, 2026, with expected delivery on March 11. It completes the MacBook lineup with the MacBook Air M5 (1199 €) and MacBook Pro M5 (1899 €).
